Got a spare million? Even $10,000 would be nice.
We operate within a development market that doesn’t always allow us to do exactly what we want or what we think is the highest priority. Our local NGO partners also operate in that environment – making compromises to suit donors and governments. We’re not complaining – we always try to do high quality work within those constraints. We’d really like to have access to some funds that would allow us and our partners to shake off some of those constraints and do exactly what we think is necessary and effective. We’ve got a bunch of great ideas about what that might look like – talk to us!
Want to Help?
One of our partners, an MSM NGO called Humsafar Trust in Mumbai, is doing some pioneering work in setting up a single Management Information System so that project staff can all report into one database and donors get their reports from a single set of data. No-one is funding them for this – they just think it’s a good idea. We’d really like to help them, and document this process for the other NGOs we support.
We’ve also got some great ideas for quick and smart research that will help us to figure out the right mix of community and government services to get better HIV prevention and care results among gay men, other men who have sex with men and transgender populations in Asia, and have identified a set of partners who want to work with us on that, but can’t get the mainstream donors to fund it at the moment. You could help us with that too.
What do you get?
A warm feeling that you are helping NGOs working with marginalised communities to be more self-determining – and your name on the products that come from the work if you want!
