APMG adopts a long-term approach to capacity development that involves training, mentoring and regular contact. Rather than restricting technical assistance to fly in/fly out visits by external consultants, we prefer to have the time and resources to develop long-term relationships with our clients that allow for a richer and more open exchange of ideas and skills.
Examples of our current and recent work in this area include:
- A three-year relationship with the management team at the Russian Harm Reduction Network, assisting them to develop the systems, policies and technical skills they need to implement their Global Fund project across the Russian Federation
- A two-year relationship with the team at the International HIV/AIDS Alliance in China, assisting them to develop systems and tools for managing their work with subagreement partners
- A one-year contract with the All-Ukrainian Network of PLHIV to assist them in developing their monitoring and evaluation system and data management processes
- A three-year contract to work with the International Committee of the Red Cross to assist them to integrate HIV into their emergency response at field level - field guide in production
Clients are encouraged to evaluate all APMG consultant visits using the folloing feedback form.
